Power BI Developer/Analyst (4-10 Years Experience)
Overview
- We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Power BI Developer/Analyst to join our offshore team in India. This role will be pivotal in translating complex business requirements into high-impact, actionable data visualizations and reports for our US-based client. The ideal candidate will be a bridge between the business and IT, owning the entire reporting lifecycle from requirements gathering and design to deployment, documentation, and user training.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements & Collaboration
- Work directly with client business and field teams in the US, collaborating closely to thoroughly gather, understand, and document reporting and dashboard requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the business teams, internal IT, and third-party vendors to ensure data availability and reporting feasibility.
- Translate business logic and KPIs into technical specifications for development.
2. Design & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Develop robust data models within Power BI, utilizing advanced DAX functions to create custom calculations and aggregated metrics.
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Optimize existing reports for performance and scalability.
3. Governance & Documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all reports, data models, and ETL processes (where applicable).
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards for report design, data governance, and deployment protocols.
- Manage the deployment pipeline, including development, testing, and production environments.
4. Training & Support
- Develop and deliver effective training materials and sessions for business and field users on how to utilize Power BI reports for decision-making.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for deployed reports and dashboards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 4-10 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role, with a strong focus on Power BI development.
- Location/Timezone: Must be based in India and willing to work during US Timezone hours to facilitate real-time collaboration with the client.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Service, including report development, data modeling, M-Query (Power Query), and advanced DAX.
- Data Skills: Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT principles, and SQL for querying data sources.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to gather requirements from non-technical users and present technical solutions clearly.

- Experience with other Microsoft technologies (Azure services like Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
