Urban Designer

Role Summary

The Urban Designer is responsible for shaping the physical layout and public realm of cities, neighborhoods, and developments. The role focuses on creating functional, sustainable, and aesthetically compelling urban environments that enhance quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare urban design concepts, master plans, frameworks, and design guidelines
  
• Develop site layouts, streetscapes, public spaces, and placemaking strategies
  
• Conduct site analysis, context studies, and urban assessments
  
• Collaborate with planners, architects, landscape architects, engineers, and stakeholders
  
• Translate planning policies and regulations into high-quality design solutions
  
• Prepare drawings, 3D models, diagrams, and presentation materials
  
• Participate in client meetings, public consultations, and design reviews
  
• Ensure designs support sustainability, accessibility, and resilience goals
  
• Review development proposals for design quality and urban integration

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field
  
• 2–7+ years of relevant professional experience (depending on level)
  
• Strong design, spatial, and analytical skills
  
• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, GIS; Rhino/Revit a plus)
  
• Solid understanding of urban design principles, zoning, and planning regulations
  
• Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills
