1. Role Purpose

Ultra-Pure Water (UPW)

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Operations & Monitoring

• Operate and monitor the

  UPW plant

  , including:
• RO (Reverse Osmosis)
  
• EDI (Electrodeionization)
  
• MMF/Softener
  
• UF (Ultrafiltration)
  
• UV systems
  
• Mixed Bed Systems
  
• Degasifier / Membrane contactors
  
• Ensure UPW meets

  ISO / SEMI standards

  for solar-grade water quality.
• Maintain and record daily logs of system parameters (pH, conductivity, silica, ORP, TOC, pressure, flow).
  

B. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

• Perform scheduled PM activities for all water treatment equipment.
  
• Troubleshoot operational issues, equipment failures, membrane fouling, and quality deviations.
  
• Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for service visits and major maintenance.
  

C. Quality & Compliance

• Conduct water sampling and testing such as:
  
• TDS, Silica, TOC, Boron, Hardness
  
• Ensure compliance with environmental norms (PCB norms, ZLD requirements if applicable).
  
• Prepare SOPs, safety procedures, and monitoring reports for internal audits.
  

D. System Improvements & Optimization

• Monitor chemical consumption and optimize dosing.
  
• Recommend improvements to reduce energy, water wastage, and O&M cost.
  
• Support new capacity expansions of UPW plants as the solar line scales.
  

E. Safety

• Adhere to safety rules while handling chemicals, membranes, resin, filters, and high-pressure equipment.
  
• Participate in LOTO, PPE adherence, and incident reporting.
  

3. Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong working knowledge of:
  
• RO/EDI/UF/UV systems
  
• Water chemistry & filtration
  
• SCADA/DCS systems for utility monitoring
  
• Troubleshooting ability in water treatment systems.
  
• Knowledge of solar manufacturing water quality standards (advantage).
  
• Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
  

4. Education & Experience

• Diploma / B.Tech

  – Chemical / Mechanical / Environmental Engineering / Industrial Engineering.

• 2–10 years

  of experience in:
• UPW operations (preferred)
  
• Water treatment plant operations (RO/EDI/UF)
  
• Utilities in Solar / Semiconductor / Pharma / Electronics / FMCG industries
  
• Experience with

  large-scale UPW plants

  is highly preferred.
