Underwriter

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Insurance Underwriter to assess risk factors of potential clients and determine appropriate coverage terms. The ideal candidate will ensure a balanced portfolio of favourable risks, minimize claim costs, and help maintain the company’s profitability

Key Responsibilities:

Review insurance applications for compliance and completeness.

Assess clients’ background information, financial status, and risk profiles.

Evaluate credit scores, accident history, and other relevant data.

Consult with actuaries and other specialists to gather insights.

Determine underwriting alternatives and draw up competitive quotes.

Negotiate and define specific terms of insurance policies.

Write policies that cover a range of risks.

Maintain detailed records of underwritten policies and decisions.

Ensure compliance with insurance laws and company guidelines

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Insurance Underwriter or in a similar role.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Familiarity with underwriting software and risk assessment tools.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related field
