Job Description

As the Transport Operations Manager at our school, your role is crucial in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for students and staff. You will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all transport operations while maintaining compliance with statutory regulations and school policies. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, schedule, and monitor daily school bus routes and transport services to ensure punctual pick-up and drop-off of students and staff. - Maintain contingency plans for route changes, delays, and emergencies to ensure smooth operations. - Ensure all vehicles meet safety, maintenance, and inspection requirements to guarantee the safety of passengers. - Implement and monitor compliance with RTA and other local transport regulations to uphold legal standards. - Conduct regular driver training sessions on student safety, first aid, and road discipline to enhance the skills of the transport team. - Oversee hiring, training, and performance of drivers, conductors, and support staff to maintain high-quality service standards. - Coordinate with external vendors for vehicle leasing, repairs, and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency. - Manage fuel usage, budgets, and contracts related to transportation to optimize resources and costs. - Maintain accurate records of routes, attendance, and vehicle documentation for effective monitoring and reporting. - Report transport incidents, delays, and safety concerns to school leadership promptly to address issues in a timely manner. - Provide regular updates on fleet status, costs, and efficiency improvements to enhance overall transport services. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in transport management or related field. - Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to manage resources effectively and optimize operational costs. - Prior experience in vendor management and contract negotiations.
