Because, even for the Buddha, personal transformation was the means to transforming the world.
This role is not unique. The way we approach it is. If our job were to go about telling teachers how to do their job, we may have called it an ‘educational coach’. If we limited ourselves to helping kids study well, we may have perhaps called the role an ‘academic excellence manager’ We are not here to 'implement' some programme. We are here to own a complete educational and cultural transformation in schools.
The Transformation Partner is given the ownership to bring such a transformation in 20 schools which have partnered with the revolutionary Chrysalis Think Room Programme. The power to inspire change in the 40 school leaders, 300 teachers and the 5000 children in these schools lies in your hands.
To facilitate this change, you will:
1. Learn & understand deeply, educational theories and how they are applied in Chrysalis
2. Visit schools, immerse in their everyday activities, understand their challenges & aspirations. With this understanding, you will partner with them to transform the way they teach & learn. (Nursery to Class 8)
3. Communicate to teachers through formal one-to-many training sessions as well as informal small group conversations
4. Collaborate with school leaders to design & implement systemic changes to improve learning outcomes
5. Gather insights & feedback from schools and use this understanding to identify the challenges they face
6. With this understanding, collaborate with others in Chrysalis to identify appropriate solutions
7. Implement the proposed solutions in partnership with schools, check for effectiveness and continue the journey of transformation, of yourself as well as the schools that you are responsible for.
The skill based qualifications are sure important. But there is something more important than that. Rather, most important. Before that, there are some things that you must know about us. The kind of things that make us a team.
We take ownership seriously.
We really give our lives to the cause of these schools. We are given an extraordinary programme, meaningful training and tools to aid us with what we do. But, we know that the power to really bring magic with this, or to lose the huge opportunity to bring beauty, lies completely in our hands.
We hate spoon-feeding. We are mad about taking initiative, innovating. Trying ways to solve small things and big. failing. seeking help. trying again. and again.
The travel and dealing with people and situations in the job could kill us, both physically and emotionally. But, we find the little changes we manage to bring in the teachers, the children to be infinitely more healing and joyful. To us, the people in the school are not someone we have to 'deal' with.
We really really care about them. And we want to do all we can to help these people create a beautiful school. And the team, we are like a family. We are not from the same bloodline, we don't live under the same roof. But we love each other.
We fight a lot, of course. But, we smile together a lot more. There are many such things that make us a living, breathing, beautiful team. We call these the Spirit of Learning Transformation.
And what is most important to us is that you really feel like you belong here, to this spirit. And that we feel the same way about you.
We have also realised that it helps if you have the following:
1. Any graduate degree at minimum
2. 3 years of work experience (in any field) at minimum
3. Willingness to travel 15-20 days a month
4. Ability to think clearly and articulate your thoughts concisely
