Trade Finance Specialist

The Export and Trade Finance (ETF) function at Hitachi Energy is a key component of the Global Treasury team. We are thrilled to announce the formation of a new Trade Finance Delivery Center team, dedicated to managing trade finance operations for our group entities in India, South Asia, and South America. As a Trade Finance Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will play a crucial role in handling Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, and various trade finance instruments. In addition to managing these operations, you will actively contribute to the enhancement of trade finance products, processes, and tools within our organization. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with business units, internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and banks worldwide to ensure efficient trade finance operations and a robust control environment. Key Responsibilities: - Facilitating the issuance of guarantees and letters of credit to meet business needs - Processing outward Guarantees, Documentary LC issuance, and inward LCs - Handling documents under LC and negotiating them, as well as monitoring inward Guarantees - Processing Short-Term Trade Finance transactions and obtaining necessary approvals in line with company policies - Enhancing the ETF landscape through the implementation of automated, straight-through processing - Establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with banks and Business Teams - Coordinating with regional counterparts on trade finance matters - Contributing as a proactive team member for various projects and processes - Ensuring proper housekeeping, follow-up with stakeholders, and maintaining documentation for SOX control compliance - Upholding Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity in all actions Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Treasury Management, Economics, or related field - Minimum 5 years of experience in administering and handling Trade Finance instruments - Profound understanding of Trade Finance products and regulations, such as URDG, UCP, and industry standards - Certification in Trade Finance instruments (e.g., CSDG, CDCS) is an advantage - Proactive approach to business challenges and strong problem-solving skills - Proficiency in MS Office/Windows applications - Excellent communication skills for interactions with third parties - Team-oriented work style and proficiency in spoken and written English At Hitachi Energy, we support individuals with disabilities in accessing and applying for job opportunities.
