Reporting to the Trade Compliance Manager, the Analyst's primary responsibility is to determine Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) classification for parts, components, and finished products relevant to Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) operations in India, EU, US, and APAC. The Analyst will collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing, and Supply Chain departments, serving as the key contact for Import Trade Compliance matters in India. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with engineering and sourcing teams for BIS regulation compliance, HTS classification, and issue resolution. - Analyze and synthesize data for HTS validation projects related to BIS certification. - Lead and manage BIS certification submissions for inter-company manufacturing plants. - Assist in preparing BIS applications, responding to queries, and maintaining approval records. - Manage BIS certification processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. - Act as the Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) for manufacturing plants during BIS certification. - Coordinate with external regulatory consultants for BIS compliance. - Ensure compliance with BIS, DGFT, IATA, and WCO regulations. - Liaise with international suppliers and manufacturers for BIS guidance. - Support monthly BIS progress reports and identify and escalate issues as needed. - Provide import/export compliance support for relevant countries. Qualifications: - 2-3 years of experience in trade compliance, HTS classification, and import/export compliance. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field. - Proficiency in SAP and Oracle is advantageous. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Clear understanding of HTS classification process and trade regulations. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. - Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
