You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and ensuring the quality of a wide range of laptops, with a particular focus on bringing pre-owned devices to optimal working condition. Your key responsibilities will include: - Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in laptops, including component-level repairs. - Performing repairs and replacements of faulty components such as motherboards, screens, keyboards, batteries, RAM, and storage devices. - Thoroughly inspecting and testing incoming refurbished laptops to identify any defects or functionality issues. - Implementing and overseeing the refurbishment process, including cleaning, cosmetic repairs, hardware upgrades, and software installation. - Installing and configuring operating systems, drivers, and software applications. - Performing data wiping and secure data destruction on refurbished devices. - Conducting rigorous quality control checks on repaired and refurbished laptops to ensure they meet performance standards. - Maintaining accurate records of repairs, parts used, and testing procedures. - Staying up-to-date with the latest laptop technologies and repair techniques. - Collaborating with other team members to optimize repair and refurbishment processes. - Potentially assisting with inventory management of spare parts and refurbished units. - Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications required for this role: - Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Proven experience of minimum 5 years as a Laptop Technician, with specific experience in repairing and refurbishing laptops. - Strong understanding of laptop hardware architecture, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and software applications. - Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults. - Hands-on experience with component-level repairs, including soldering and board-level diagnostics (preferred). - Familiarity with data wiping and secure data destruction methods. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong quality control skill.
