Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Textile Industry Researcher to conduct in-depth research and provide strategic insights related to textile manufacturing, innovation, sustainability, and market dynamics. The ideal candidate should possess strong research methodologies (quantitative and qualitative), a deep understanding of global textile supply chains, fiber technology, and regulatory frameworks. This role contributes directly to product innovation, competitive intelligence, compliance, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities 1. Industry & Market Research Conduct comprehensive research on trends, innovations, and forecasts in the textile and apparel industry. Analyze global and regional market dynamics including production, consumption, import/export data. Study competitors, pricing models, and business strategies of leading textile players. 2. Fiber, Fabric & Technology Research Investigate developments in fibers (natural, synthetic, blends), finishes, sustainable materials, and performance textiles. Study advancements in textile machinery, dyeing processes, nanotechnology, and digital textile printing. Evaluate lifecycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental impacts of textile processes. 3. Sustainability & Compliance Research Monitor environmental, social, and governance (ESG) trends in textile manufacturing. Track industry compliance standards (Oeko-Tex, GOTS, REACH, ZDHC, BCI, ISO 14001). Analyze the impact of circular economy models and sustainable sourcing practices. 4. Supply Chain and Procurement Research Examine sourcing strategies, raw material availability, and price volatility. Study logistics and supply chain bottlenecks specific to cotton, polyester, silk, wool, etc. Research trade agreements and tariffs affecting textile trade (e.g., India-Bangladesh, EU-GSP, USMCA, RCEP). 5. Data Collection & Analysis Design surveys, interview industry stakeholders, and compile secondary data from reputable sources (Textile Intelligence, Statista, WTO, ITMF, McKinsey). Use statistical and data visualization tools to interpret findings. Create structured reports, white papers, and executive summaries. 6. Collaboration & Reporting Work with product design, sourcing, marketing, and sustainability teams. Present findings in stakeholder meetings, product planning discussions, or investor briefings. Maintain a research archive with well-categorized references and data sources. Required Skills & Competencies Technical/Research Skills: Advanced knowledge of textile science and materials. Strong proficiency in market research methodologies and tools. Data modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis (SPSS, R, Excel, Python preferred). Experience with scientific and academic research databases (ScienceDirect, Scopus, JSTOR). Familiarity with textile certifications and quality standards. Soft Skills: High attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to distill complex findings into actionable insights. Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects. Qualifications & Experience Master’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred. 3–6 years of experience in textile research, R&D, or consulting. Experience in textile manufacturing, technical textiles, or fashion supply chains is a plus. Publications, conference participation, or patents in textile innovation is a bonus. Tools & Platforms Used Statistical Tools: SPSS, R, Python (Pandas/Numpy), Tableau/Power BI Research & Data Sources: Fibre2Fashion, Textile Today, WTO Reports, WGSN, Mintel, Fashion Snoops Documentation: MS Office Suite, Latex (optional), Notion/Confluence Communication: Slack, Teams, Zoom IP & Patent Research Tools: Google Patents, Espacenet, Scopus Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of completed research projects or reports Accuracy and relevance of insights delivered Stakeholder satisfaction with research utility Timeliness of research submissions Value contribution to innovation, sourcing strategy, or sustainability targets Work Environment & Culture Fast-paced, innovation-driven textile manufacturing or corporate setting. Occasional travel to mills, trade shows, exhibitions, or research labs (as required). Cross-functional teamwork with Product Development, Marketing, and Procurement departments. Access to global research databases and exclusive industry subscriptions. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹46,680.05 per month Schedule: Day shift Supplemental Pay: Performance bonus Work Location: In person
