Job Description

Position Title: Territory Sales Incharge (TSI)
Department: Sales & Marketing
Business Segment: Bread & Bakery Products
Location: Bhubaneswar,
Reports To: Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Role Objective:

To drive bread sales in the assigned territory by ensuring effective distribution, retail coverage, and secondary sales growth. The TSI will manage distributor relationships, supervise Sales Representatives (SRs), and execute sales & market development activities in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Distribution Management
  • Achieve monthly sales targets (Primary & Secondary) for bread products.
  • Ensure 100% billing and placement of bread SKUs across assigned outlets/Distributors.
  • Drive distribution expansion by adding new outlets/Distributors point and maintaining existing ones.
  • Monitor stock movement, freshness, and market returns.
  • Market Development
  • Implement trade marketing & promotional activities for bread category.
  • Ensure visibility and availability of bread products in General Trade, Modern Trade, and Institutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities in schools, hospitals, hostels, canteens, and bakeries.
  • Distributor & Team Handling
  • Manage distributor operations including claims, inventory, and ROI.
  • Supervise Sales Representatives (SRs) and ensure daily beat adherence.
  • Train, motivate, and guide SRs to improve sales efficiency.
  • Execution & Compliance
  • Execute market plans, schemes, and launches as per company strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and trade terms.
  • Regular reporting of sales, competition activity, and market feedback.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of primary and secondary sales targets.
  • Numeric & weighted distribution growth.
  • Outlet productivity and market coverage.
  • Freshness management and minimal market returns.
  • Effective SR supervision and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PGDM preferred).
  • 2–5 years of sales experience in FMCG (preferably Bread / Bakery / Perishable Food segment).
  • Strong knowledge of distributor management and retail channel.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, reporting, and sales tracking tools.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong sales acumen with result-oriented approach.
  • Good communication & negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a sales team.
  • Market intelligence & competitor tracking.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within territory.
