Job Summary
A hospital telephone operator manages incoming calls, directs them to the appropriate extensions, and provides information to patients, staff, and visitors. Handle emergency calls with efficiency and must follow hospital safety and patient privacy procedures. Also schedule appointments, maintain records, and operate telecommunications equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Summary
Ø Answering and Directing Calls: Answer incoming calls from patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital staff. Direct calls to the correct department or personnel within the hospital.
Ø Message Taking and Delivery: Take accurate messages from callers and ensure timely delivery to the intended recipient specially activating the emergency code
Ø Patient Information and Coordination: To Follow Hospital rules regulation in case of external calls
Ø Hospital Directory and Information: Maintain up-to-date hospital directories and provide accurate information to callers.
Ø Emergency Situations: Remain calm and composed in emergency situations and take prompt action to ensure the best possible outcome.
Ø Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Ø Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple phone lines and prioritize tasks.
Ø Conflict Resolution: Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
Ø Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with hospital staff to achieve common goals.
Ø Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Patient Care: Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service.
Working Conditions:
Ø Work Environment: Hospital environment, including noise and distractions.
Ø Shifts: All types of rotational shift will be there
Education
Ø Qualification -HSC or Graduation Qualification is Required
Ø Experience – 1 Year plus as a telephone operator
Ø Prior Experience: Previous experience as a telephone operator or in a related field is an asset
Ø Communication Skills: Good Communication Skills
Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and remain composed under pressure
