Telecom Integration & Development Engineer

We are seeking a Telecom Integration & Development Engineer with strong experience in telecom core networks and hands-on development to design, build, and deploy a new Entitlement Server supporting SIM-based silent authentication.

Unlike purely architectural roles, this position requires practical setup of environments, backend coding, and integration with operator-grade systems. You will work closely with backend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver a carrier-grade platform.

Role & responsibilities

• Set up and manage development, lab, and test environments (containerized and cloud-based).
• Develop and configure backend modules/APIs enabling SIM/eSIM-based authentication flows (EAP-AKA, fallback).
• Integrate with HSS, AAA, UDM, and PCRF systems, including use of simulators (Open5GS, srsLTE, freeDiameter).
• Create automated test suites (unit + integration) and ensure 7080% coverage of core functions.
• Implement DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Support internal validation and operator UAT, including troubleshooting in real-world operator testbeds.
• Prepare production-ready deployment packs (Helm charts, docker-compose, automation scripts).
• Collaborate with security teams on penetration testing, threat modelling, and performance benchmarks.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong telecom systems or core network software experience.
• Hands-on backend development in Java (Spring Boot), Python, or Go.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
• Practical knowledge of telecom authentication flows (EAP-AKA, SIM-based auth).
• Experience working with HSS, AAA, or IMS systems in telecom environments.
• Familiarity with GSMA TS.43 standards and 3GPP protocols.
• Ability to set up, debug, and troubleshoot telecom test environments.
• Security awareness: threat modeling, penetration testing, and data protection schemes.

Bonus Points For

Experience with 5G Core or GSMA Open Gateway APIs.

Experience deploying software in operator-grade testbeds.

Hands-on with monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Prior work on entitlement servers, provisioning systems, or SIM authentication flows.
