Medcare Hospitals Medical Centres is looking for Technician - Medical Records to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.
Record Management: Collect, organize, and maintain patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats. Ensure that records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date.Data Entry: Enter patient information into the electronic health record (EHR) system, including demographics, medical history, test results, diagnoses, treatments, and other relevant data.Confidentiality: Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality by adhering to strict HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and facility-specific policies.Record Retrieval and Filing: Retrieve and file medical records as needed for patient appointments, medical staff, and other authorized personnel. Maintain an organized and efficient filing system.Release of Information: Process requests for the release of medical records to patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other authorized entities while following proper procedures and protocols.Record Auditing: Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records. Rectify any discrepancies and update information as required.Medical Coding: Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments to support billing and insurance claims processing accurately.EHR Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the electronic health record system, reporting any technical issues to the IT department or vendor as necessary.Collaborate with Healthcare Staff: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain data quality, consistency, and integrity of medical records to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Record Destruction: Oversee the proper destruction of expired or obsolete medical records in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.Training and Education: Provide training to healthcare staff on proper record documentation and compliance with medical record policies and procedures.
