Job Description

As a Technical Service Engineer MESA - WFI based in Mumbai at Castrol, your main responsibility is to plan, organize, and deliver a differentiated level of technical service to customers and target prospects consistent with the GME technical offer and in support of sector strategies. You will coordinate the activities of a technical services team, under the guidance of the Regional/Area Technical Services Manager, to effectively deliver a differentiated level of technical service to GME. Additionally, you will be a consultant to Castrol's high-value customers, providing SmartGains insights and opportunities from Used oil analysis results. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare and maintain a Schedule of recommended lubricants for customer assets using available online tools in order to establish an optimized machinery lubricant portfolio. - Respond to customers" technical queries on product, application, and operational conditions, ensuring customer satisfaction. - Conduct basic technical problem-solving in cooperation with Product Managers and make appropriate recommendations for the benefit of the customer and the company's image. - Administer a central used oil analysis program for assets where required and utilize the data to create SmartGains recommendations. - Establish and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, key regional OEMs, and stakeholders within the wider BP group and the Lubricants organization. - Demonstrate the differentiated value of the GME offer to customers and target prospects through the SmartGains framework. - Generate and communicate sales leads to sales and business development functions by demonstrating strong technical relationships and bringing value playback and trade-up opportunities from SmartGains insights. - Coordinate and conduct visits within HSSE guidelines to ships, offshore assets, and yards for inspection, lubrication surveys, change-over visits, etc. - Maintain and update relevant central technical databases on a regular basis with insights and data from the region. **Qualifications Required:** - Degree/Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or adjacent field with proven experience. - A minimum of 3 years offshore industry experience or sailing experience as a Class 2 Engineer and above. - Theoretical and practical experience of main rotating machinery operated by offshore companies. - Condition-based maintenance experience.
