Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with the customer (OEM) and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure program viability and alignment with company capabilities.
  • Lead and manage full-lifecycle EV powertrain programs across multiple products and geographies
  • Align functional roadmaps across Design, Simulation, Testing, Quality, Sourcing, and Manufacturing
  • Interface with OEM customers for requirement alignment, project status updates, and change management
  • Establish and manage program governance through structured reviews, milestone tracking, and risk management
  • Champion the integration of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, DVP&R, and ISO 26262 (if applicable) across programs
  • Drive continuous communication and transparency across internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and operational risks
  • Coordinate prototype builds, test cycles, and industrialization activities
  • Mentor junior project engineers and contribute to program management best practices
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and resolve conflicts to keep the program on track.
  • Foster collaboration between departments to meet technical, cost, and timing requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Tier 1 supplier and the OEM customer, ensuring clear communication and alignment on expectations.
  • Manage customer requirements, including specifications, design changes, and delivery schedules, while negotiating scope adjustments as needed.
  • Present program status updates, milestones, and issue resolutions to the customer during regular reviews.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks (technical, financial, logistical) throughout the lifecycle.
  • Resolve issues related to design, production, or supply chain disruptions in a timely manner to prevent delays to SOP.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior leadership with recommended solutions when necessary.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of program or project management experience in the automotive industry OEM or Tier-1
  • Proven track record of managing programs from concept to SOP for an OEM customer.
  • Deep understanding of EV Powertrain components (motors, inverters, transmissions, control systems)
  • Strong program management skills with expertise in Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet)
  • Technical proficiency to engage in design and validation discussions at system and subsystem levels
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 standards
  • Prior experience with international OEM or Tier-1 programs preferred
