Position Overview

The Technical MEP Procurement Lead will oversee the end-to-end procurement cycle for MEP packages, including technical evaluation, proposal preparation, RFQ management, vendor coordination, cost estimation, and negotiation. The role requires strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, materials, and construction execution methodology within contracting companies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & RFQ Management

• Prepare, float, and evaluate RFQs for all MEP works (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting).
  
• Conduct technical and commercial comparison of vendor quotations.
  
• Ensure specifications, BOQs, and drawings are aligned with RFQs before finalizing vendors.
  
• Drive procurement timelines to ensure project schedules are met.
  

2. Technical Evaluation & Coordination

• Review MEP drawings, specifications, and tender documents for procurement needs.
  
• Technically evaluate materials, equipment, and vendor offers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  
• Liaise with project, design, and estimation teams for technical clarifications.
  

3. Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and prequalify MEP vendors/subcontractors.
  
• Maintain vendor database, conduct negotiations, and finalize rate contracts.
  
• Build strong relationships with suppliers for timely material delivery.
  

4. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for MEP packages.
  
• Analyze market pricing trends and support tender/proposal teams in budget finalization.
  
• Provide value engineering options to reduce cost without compromising quality.
  

5. Proposal & Documentation

• Support preparation of technical proposals for tenders and bids.
  
• Prepare comparative statements, purchase recommendations, and procurement documentation.
  
• Maintain procurement trackers and MIS reports for management review.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of MEP systems: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting.
  
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, rate analysis & project costing.
  
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOQs.
  
• Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (optional), and ERP procurement modules.
