Technical Lead - Software Development

In this role at iGuru Software Ltd, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a high-throughput, low-latency, and fault-tolerant sportsbook platform. You will work directly with developers, architects, and stakeholders to build real-time systems that scale globally. As the Tech Lead, you will lead by example by writing, reviewing, and optimizing production-grade code. You will also design highly scalable, real-time betting systems aiming for 24 million transactions per day. Expect to tune APIs, databases, queues, and system processes for ultra-low latency. Your role will involve driving architecture decisions, establishing coding standards, and guiding best practices within the team. Additionally, you will support, monitor, and mentor a team of engineers, collaborate with clients, implement robust pipelines and production deployment strategies, and set up proactive observability and incident management practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead by example: Write, review, and optimize production-grade code - Architect & build: Design highly scalable, real-time betting systems (targeting 24 million transactions/day) - Performance optimization: Tune APIs, databases, queues, and system processes for ultra-low latency - Technical direction: Drive architecture decisions, coding standards, and team best practices - Team mentorship: Support, monitor, and guide a team of engineers - Client interaction: Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions - DevOps & CI/CD: Implement robust pipelines and production deployment strategies - Monitoring & alerting: Set up proactive observability and incident management practices **Minimum Qualifications:** - 6+ years of full-stack/back-end software engineering experience - Strong hands-on experience with scalable backend development using Node.js, Java, or .NET - Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture - Experience working on high-performance systems with millions of daily transactions - Deep knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB) - Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and real-time streaming - Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Strong grasp of unit testing, code coverage, and CI/CD practices - Ability to document technical processes, systems, and architecture clearly - Excellent communication and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** - Experience with sports betting or high-frequency trading platforms - Familiarity with odds engines, betting markets, and risk management tools - Knowledge of security protocols, anti-fraud techniques, and regulatory compliance - Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) In this role, you will lead a critical, high-visibility project at the intersection of sports and technology.
