Technical Lead - HW System & process
Primary Purpose of the Role:
The Engineering Coach & Improvement role supports Thales UK, Domains, teams and individuals to help them become more autonomous and constantly improve in their Lean and Agile approach in order to deliver a quality product to end users. They focus / contribute to the definition and dissemination of best practices and the implementation of operational models in order to promote the empowerment of teams while maximizing the efficiency of projects.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
As an Engineering Coach & Improvement engineering within Thales UK you will:
- Refine / Develop effective process tailoring to support Thales UK Domains
- Deliver against the Engineering Process Roadmap
- Identify improvement areas and drive the implementation of change
- Provide support (guidance and training) to Thales UK Domains on the engineering process including:
- Tailoring of the engineering / DDQS Chorus process
- Process guidance and query resolution
- Support to Co-Assessments
- Development of training material
- Support to training delivery
- Drive teams process by facilitating events/ceremonies and Agile workshops to become self-organized teams
- Set up environment where trust and transparency are key pillars
- Good understanding of the development lifecycle and lifecycle products.
- Provide technical advice to all technical matters and management issues related to the Systems Engineering Group.
- Provide assistance and guidance to the Project Systems Engineers for their responsibilities and design decisions
- Develops and trains Systems Engineering resources supporting availability of adequate and qualified staff to perform and/or lead the design/requirements developments for the project/products, including acceptance requirements.
- Keep abreast of technical development both within and outside of the company.
- Identify training, development and performance needs
- This role is often the technical focal point for the System Engineering process and must be able to resolve all issues, problems, questions and conflicts in the entire system. This requires frequent handling of new and unusual issues therefore a proven record of working in a Systems Engineering Management function is required.
