Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Advocacy & Thought Leadership

  • Represent VVDN at defence industry conferences, government forums, technical workshops, and partner meetings.
  • Create and deliver technical presentations, system demos, white papers, and application notes focused on SDR, radar, SATCOM, and secure comms.
  • Publish thought leadership content (technical articles, blogs, papers) highlighting VVDNs expertise in A&D communications and sensor systems.

2. Customer & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Engage with defence primes, integrators, government agencies, and satellite/HAPS/NTN partners to identify mission requirements and co-develop solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with silicon/FPGA vendors, RF front-end suppliers, antenna manufacturers, and secure radio OEMs.
  • Represent VVDN in relevant industry consortia and standards groups.

3. Solution Definition & Technical Enablement:

  • Work with product and engineering teams to define system-level reference architectures for:
    • SDR platforms for EW (jamming), anti-drone, and secure tactical communications.
    • Multi-element phased-array radar subsystems and RF front-ends.
    • Ku/Ka-band SATCOM terminals (flat-panel and aperture), NTN-capable designs, and telemetry links.
  • Lead technical enablement for sales, systems engineering, and partner teams deliver workshops, training, and POC guidance.
  • Drive validation, test plans, and performance benchmarking for RF systems, waveform implementations, link budgets, and EW scenarios.

4. Pre-Sales & Go-To-Market Support:

  • Support bid responses, technical proposals, and RFP clarifications with authoritative technical content.
  • Assist field teams with POCs, system demonstrations, and customer technical briefings.
  • Provide market and technology trend insights to influence product roadmap and business strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in

    Electronics, RF Engineering, Communications, Aerospace, or related discipline

    .
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in aerospace & defence communications, RF systems, radar, or satellite communications.
  • Strong technical background in one or more of:
    • Software Defined Radios (FPGA/SoC-based waveform implementation, radios for EW and tactical comms)
    • RF system design (transceiver chains, LNA, PA, filters, frequency planning)
    • Phased-array radar systems, beamforming, and array signal processing fundamentals
    • Satellite communications (Ku/Ka-band), NTN architectures, and flat-panel antenna systems
    • Telemetry, command & control links, secure/crypto communications
  • Practical knowledge of link budgets, propagation models, spectrum management, and regulatory considerations for defence/SATCOM bands.
  • Excellent technical communication, presentation, and technical writing skills for both engineering and stakeholder audiences.
  • Proven ability to work across engineering, product, and business teams and to engage with defense customers and ecosystem partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with FPGA/RTL development for SDRs and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Familiarity with EW concepts, jamming techniques, anti-drone countermeasures, and operational use-cases.
  • Experience with phased-array control firmware, beamforming algorithms, and calibration procedures.
  • Background in secure communications protocols, crypto hardware integration, and MIL-STD / DO-178 / similar processes.
  • Exposure to satellite terminal certifications, link testing, and integration with GEO/LEO/NTN platforms.
  • Prior role as Technical Evangelist, Solutions Architect, Field Application Engineer, or Systems Engineer in the A&D domain.
