Technical Content Writer

A technical writer at Unicommerce works within the Process Excellence team and is responsible for creating instruction manuals, journal articles, and other supporting materials. Their role involves explaining complex technical information such as product release notes, API references, SDK documentation, product support guides, and FAQs in a clear and user-friendly manner for Unicommerces clients and developer partners.

You will be required to:

• Determine the technical documentation needs of end users.
• Work with technical staff to make products easier to use and thus need fewer instructions.
• Study product samples and talk with product designers and developers.
• Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animations, charts that increase users understanding.
• Select the appropriate medium for messages. Standardize content across different platforms and media.
• Gather usability feedback from customers.
• Revise documents as new issues arise.
• Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience, including experience researching and writing excellent documentation for developers and customers (API references REST & SOAP, SDKs, web technologies, developer guides, code samples in Java, JS)
• You might have a background as a developer, and write as a hobby, or perhaps you're an experienced communicator who loves digging into code.
