Job Summary:

Tax Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise clients on direct and indirect tax implications, including income tax, GST/VAT, TDS, corporate tax, etc.
  
• Prepare and review tax returns, filings, and other statutory documents.
  
• Conduct tax planning and optimization strategies for clients.
  
• Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations and advise accordingly.
  
• Liaise with tax authorities and represent clients in case of audits, notices, or litigation.
  
• Perform tax due diligence and support M&A or restructuring activities.
  
• Maintain documentation and ensure all tax-related activities are in compliance with legal standards.
  
• Identify areas for process improvements and automation within the tax function.
  
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and compliance teams to assess tax risks and opportunities.
  
• Train and mentor junior tax staff (for senior-level roles).
  

Required Skills :

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Law, or a related field.
  
• CA / CPA / CMA / LLB / Master's in Taxation (as applicable).
  
• X+ years of experience in tax advisory, consulting, or compliance.
  
• Strong understanding of local and international tax laws.
  
• Proficient in using tax software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or tax-specific tools).
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
