Job Description

As a Senior Associate at RSM US LLP, you will be a part of the AMP team in India offices, specifically working with Tax Accounting Methods & Periods (AMP). Your primary responsibilities will include: - Delivery of AMP projects supervised by regional and WNT AMP specialists, covering areas such as revenue recognition, expense recognition, inventory/UNICAP, and cost recovery tax accounting method changes. - Developing an understanding of the client's business to become a "functional expert" in research and writing tax advice, opinions, and position memorandums. - Assisting in drafting technical memoranda, legal basis disclosures, responses to IRS inquiries, and IRS Ruling requests. - Managing and implementing multiple projects concurrently, involving technical discussions with clients, computations, analysis, data gathering, and resource coordination. - Providing high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations. - Ensuring professional development through continuous education and obtaining relevant certifications. - Contributing to the success of multiple CIM engagements, primarily focused on AMP along with R&D tax credit studies and Tangible Property Services (TPS) when necessary. - Performing tax planning and research, resolving complex tax issues, and communicating recommendations to clients. - Building and maintaining client relationships. - Developing, motivating, and training staff. - Staying updated on tax practices and changes in tax law. - Performing any other duties as necessary. Basic Qualifications: - Minimum of 1 year plus of experience in public accounting, or a combination of public accounting and industry. - Bachelor's Degree (Accounting) or equivalent from an accredited university. - Intermediate skills in MS Excel and Access. - Ability to collaborate closely with the Onshore team to address queries or collect required information for tax service needs. - Advance Excel skills are mandatory. - Experience in tax research and working for large national accounting firms in a specialized practice area. - Ability to work and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Working towards the successful completion of the CPA / EA exam - associates have an opportunity to obtain the audit hours required for full certification. - Masters in Accounting or other business-related field; MBA, JD/LLM. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
