Tandoor Cook

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tandoor Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should be skilled in preparing traditional Indian dishes using the tandoor (clay oven), including breads, kebabs, and tandoori specialties, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, taste, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of tandoor dishes such as naan, roti, kebabs, tikkas, and tandoori meats and vegetables.
• Ensure consistency and quality in taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the kitchen team for ingredient requisitions.
• Clean and maintain the tandoor oven and cooking station following hygiene and safety standards.
• Experiment with new recipes and contribute to menu development with Indian tandoori dishes.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service.
• Follow proper food storage and labeling procedures.
• Train and guide junior staff in tandoor techniques and preparation methods.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or in a similar role in a hotel or restaurant.
• Expertise in Indian tandoori cooking techniques and food presentation.
• Familiarity with kitchen operations and food hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
• Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Culinary certification or diploma preferred but not mandatory.

• Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot kitchen environments.
