As a Tax Accountant at our company, you will play a crucial role in preparing and filing Canadian tax returns, including T1 (personal tax returns), T2 (corporate tax returns), and Notice to Reader (NTR) financial statements. Your responsibilities will include accurately preparing and filing T1 and T2 tax returns while ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws. You will also be responsible for creating NTR financial statements for clients and providing them with tax planning advice to minimize liabilities and maximize returns. Staying updated on changes in Canadian tax laws and conducting tax research will be key aspects of your role. Effective communication with clients to gather necessary financial information, resolve inquiries, and liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) when required will be part of your daily tasks. Timely completion and filing of all tax-related documents will also be essential to ensure compliance. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA designation being an asset. You should have proven experience as a Tax Accountant, focusing on T1, T2, and NTR preparation, along with proficiency in using TaxCycle software. A strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple clients and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are required. Responsibilities Extensive experience in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, compilations, reviews, and Canadian tax compliance.
