Description
As a Mechanical Developer at our company, you will play a crucial role in reviewing customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements. Your responsibilities will include identifying and defining the preliminary scope of work for Switchgear and its associated components, preparing Bills of Materials, Layout Drawings, and Specification Review documents based on your engineering expertise. You will collaborate with fellow engineers to generate technical solutions for our suite of products and prepare Switchgear mechanical modeling concepts in accordance with NEMA Standards. Key Responsibilities: - Review customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements - Define the preliminary scope of work for Switchgear and its associated components - Prepare Bills of Materials, Layout Drawings, and Specification Review documents - Collaborate with engineers to develop technical solutions for Siemens products - Create detailed Mechanical General Arrangement drawings of Switchgear according to customer requirements - Customize Mechanical Switchgear Drawings based on customer requirements - Engage in customer discussions to support business development, proposal, and sales teams - Ensure Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances and sheet metal structural design are accurate - Work closely with the Project Management team for an efficient project handover Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience - Advanced degree can substitute for 2 years of experience - Experience in the design and application of electrical power distribution products and power systems - Knowledge of Mechanical Structure schemes, schematics, and layout diagrams - Ability to analyze customers' technical documentation and apply Siemens product offerings effectively - Proficiency in financial knowledge, collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills - Excellent communication skills for internal and external interactions - Identification of market trends and collaboration with Marketing and Technology - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, product configuration/pricing applications, and 3D/2D Modeling software - Experience in PLM Software such as SAP, Team Centre, Sales Force, etc. You will be based in Chennai, where you will have the opportunity to work with diverse teams impacting cities, countries, and shaping the future.
