Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and technically adept System Engineer with proven hands-on experience in

telecom OSS System specifically Incident Ticketing Management System (IM). The ideal candidate will have a

strong foundation in understanding the OSS framework, Ticketing workflow, data analysis, and telecom

protocols, combined with practical exposure to testing and integrating Incident Ticketing Management System,

Fault Management (FM), and Performance Management (PM) systems. Excellent communication skills and the

ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams are essential, particularly in a cross-time-zone

customer environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical L1 support for day-to-day issues / users requests.
  • Liaise with customer stakeholders, supplier personnel to resolve requests/issues.
  • Providing remote and on-site support if necessary.
  • Interact and collaborate effectively with global telecom customers and internal teams.
  • Perform system setup, configuration, and integration of FM/PM/IM (File-based, SNMP, REST API).
  • Execute system integration testing, including:
  • Connectivity validation
  • Functional and fault testing
  • GUI validation
  • Ticket workflow validation and report testing
  • Analyse telecom network performance KPIs and support reporting/visualization requirements.
  • Ability to provide clear internal and external communications
  • Excellent trouble shooting and critical thinking skills
  • Able to act as a mentor for support engineers
  • Strong working with team members
  • Manage system health, logs, and performance, resolving issues proactively.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including deployment, QA, and customer support.
  • Apply patches, perform upgrades, and maintain system security and documentation.
  • Participate in UAT/SIT testing phases and post-deployment validation.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of incident ticketing management tools like BMC (preferred) or

other industry-standard tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in telecom domain, specifically performance management and system

integration.

  • Hands-on experience with telecom operator, data analysis, and reporting methods.
  • Good knowledge of integration and testing of PM, FM, Incident Ticketing Management, IT system,

and Network Management System across different protocols (File-based, SNMP, REST API, LDAP, NTP, and

etc).

  • Familiar with incident ticketing management system, with BMC Helix, Oracle database, Jasper, and

Tableau experience being highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of SIT/UAT processes and telecom data validation.
  • Proficient in Linux/Unix-based environments, scripting (Shell, Python), and basic SQL.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with global stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to work in different customer time zones as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in multi-vendor telecom environments.
  • Knowledge of OSS/BSS systems and data mediation.
  • Familiar with ticketing and collaboration and monitoring tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, DevOps,

Grafana, ELK).

  • Basic understanding of cloud environments (VMware, AWS, Azure) and containerized systems (Docker,

Kubernetes).
