Job Description

Supervisor (AIIMS Patient Shelter Home)

  1. Operational Supervision:

  • Oversee daily operations of the shelter home including accommodation, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
  • Ensure proper allocation of beds/rooms to patients and attendants as per guidelines.
  • Maintain discipline and orderly conduct within the shelter premises.
  1. Staff & Volunteer Management:

  • Supervise housekeeping staff, caretakers, security personnel, and volunteers.
  • Assign duties, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to duty schedules.
  • Promote teamwork and a service-oriented work culture.

Patient & Attendant Support:

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients and attendants staying in the shelter.
  • Address grievances, concerns, and basic needs with empathy and sensitivity.
  • Guide residents regarding shelter rules, timings, and facilities.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Coordinate with AIIMS hospital administration, NGOs, donors, and community groups.
  • Assist in organizing community service activities, awareness programs, and welfare initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth communication between management, staff, and residents.

Record Keeping & Reporting:

  • Maintain records related to occupancy, staff attendance, inventory, and incidents.
  • Submit regular reports on shelter operations to the management.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and health standards.
  • Handle emergencies calmly and report incidents promptly to authorities.
  • Support implementation of policies related to patient welfare and shelter management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum

    Graduate

    (Preference for Social Work / Humanities / Management).
  • Prior experience in

    hostel, shelter home, hospital support services, or community work

    preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of

    empathy, patience, and compassion

    .
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergencies.
  • Basic computer knowledge for record keeping.
