Substation Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities:-

• Design high-voltage substations (220kV 400kV) including layout, single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and control wiring.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings for equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, isolators, CTs, VTs, and protection & control panels.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review and validate design calculations, short-circuit analysis, load flow studies, and protective relay coordination.
• Ensure designs meet national and international standards (IEC, IEEE, IS) and client specifications.
• Assist in resolving engineering issues and provide recommendations for design improvements.
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all engineering deliverables.

Preferred candidate profile:-

• Candidate having at least 12-15 year of experience in substation design (132kv, 220kV, and 400kV).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or equivalent) and substation design tools.
• Knowledge of power system studies software (ETAP, PowerFactory, PSSE, or equivalent).
• Understanding of protection, control, and SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with project execution and substation commissioning processes.
• Experience with GIS substations, cable sizing, and earthing design.
• Exposure to international projects and standards
