Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Purpose

The Subject Matter Expert (Environment) is responsible for providing technical expertise, guidance, and support in environmental management, compliance, and sustainability practices. The role ensures that organizational operations align with environmental regulations, industry standards, and company policies while promoting sustainable initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on environmental regulations, compliance, and best practices.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management systems (EMS).
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support ISO 14001 / environmental audit requirements and ensure compliance.
• Guide project/site teams on waste management, pollution control, water/air quality management, and biodiversity conservation.
• Monitor and report on environmental performance indicators (KPIs).
• Stay updated with new environmental laws, regulations, and industry developments.
• Train and build awareness among employees on environmental sustainability practices.
• Liaise with government agencies, consultants, and certification bodies regarding compliance and audits.
• Support the organization’s sustainability and ESG initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or related field.
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction / infrastructure / manufacturing industry /Environment
• In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, standards, and ISO 14001.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to provide practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
