Student Counselor

Job Summary:

The Student Counselor provides academic, personal, and career guidance to students. They support students' overall well-being by addressing emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, helping them navigate academic pressures, and fostering their personal development. The counselor serves as a key liaison between students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, emotional, behavioral, and social issues.

* Assist students with setting academic and career goals and planning educational paths.

* Address and support mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, and bullying.

* Identify students at risk and develop intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and parents.

* Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs and progress.

* Maintain confidentiality of student records and counseling sessions in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.

* Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness programs on mental health, career development, and life skills.

* Provide crisis intervention when necessary and make referrals to outside professionals or services.

* Collaborate with school staff to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.

* Monitor academic performance and attendance and provide early intervention strategies.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

* Certification or licensure in school counseling (as required by local regulations).

* Proven experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting.

* Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

* Empathetic, patient, and culturally sensitive approach.
