Structural Expert

As a Structural Engineer at Bureau Veritas, your role involves developing BV services for structural design reviews of bulk material handling equipment such as Single Gantry Crane, double Gantry Crane, Coke and Coal Handling, Steel Melting shop, Rolling Mills Hot and Cold, and conveyor system structures. You are expected to have a minimum of 9 to 10 years of expertise in designing structures, particularly in the areas of cranes and conveyor structures. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing detailed methodology for reviewing structural designs calculations with applicable codes and Standards for bulk material handling cranes/machinery. - Designing and analyzing bulk material handling structures including EOT cranes and conveyor structures for optimum performance and safety. - Overseeing the review of conveyor GA and detailing of all components, Design review of conveyor system including power calculation, drive equipment selection calculation, curvature calculation, counterweight calculation, shaft design, etc. - Reviewing FEA analysis of different components of the crane such as crab, LT, hoisting frame, etc. with SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION. - Verifying Motion analysis results. - Supporting in the preparation of proposals and estimates to the Sales team and helping to control spend on site activities. - Identifying improvements to work practices and actively contributing towards continuous improvements. - Ensuring that deliverables to the client are submitted within the specified timeframe. - Performing in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy. - Conducting thorough reviews of topography reports to assess the site conditions for structural design. - Independently preparing excel tools for calculation reports. Additionally, you are expected to have the following qualifications and technical knowledge: - B.E/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical with a Masters degree in Structural/Mechanical Engineering. - Minimum 10 years of proven experience in structural design, focusing on Bulk Material Handling Machinery for mining and various industrial applications. - Proficiency in relevant software for structural analysis and design of cranes such as FEMAP Nastran, Solid Works, STAAD pro, and Autocad.
