STRUCTURAL DETAILER / STEEL DETAILER

ROLE, CANDIDATE SPECIFICATIONS AND JOB PROFILE

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities

• Create Detailed Drawings

  : Produce comprehensive shop drawings and erection plans for various architectural metal components, including facades, staircases, railings, canopies, and other custom fabrications.

• Interpret Design Documents

  : Analyze and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and other project documents to accurately represent the design intent.

• Collaborate and Coordinate

  : Work closely with architects, Client, and fabrication teams to resolve design discrepancies, clarify specifications, and ensure a smooth workflow from design to installation.

• Ensure Compliance

  : Verify that all drawings and designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards (e.g., AISC), and company quality control measures.

• Generate Material Lists

  : Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and cut lists to facilitate efficient procurement and fabrication processes.

• Problem-Solving

  : Identify potential fabrication or installation issues and propose practical, effective solutions to maintain project schedules and integrity.

• Maintain Records

  : Manage and document all drawing revisions, RFI's (Requests for Information), and project communication in an organized manner.

• Provide Technical Support

  : Offer technical expertise and guidance during the fabrication and on-site erection phases.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education

  : A degree(UG/PG) in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience

  : A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in structural detailing, preferably within the architectural metal fabrication or structural steel industry.

• Software Proficiency

  : Expertise in industry-standard detailing software, such as Tekla Structures/ AutoCAD/Rhino/SolidWorks

• Technical Knowledge

  : A solid understanding of steel fabrication processes, welding techniques, material properties, and construction methods.

• Detail-Oriented

  : Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.

• Communication

  : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Problem-Solving

  : Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex design challenges.
