Structural Designer

The role of a Structural Designer involves producing designs for engineering projects ranging from 11kV through to 132kV for Contestable works as an ICP and client-side balance of plant works. As a Structural Designer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of projects and creating drawings using AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit & Civils 3D. Additionally, you will be required to carry out structural calculations for onsite structures designed by the Civils team using TEKLA/TEDS, as well as detailed rebar design for concrete bases, foundations, and transformer bunds. Moreover, the role will entail detailed calculations for piling caps and steel platforms, requiring proficiency with British and European standards and Building Regulations. You will be expected to resolve technical problems and issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives, prepare technical reports for both internal and external purposes, and provide technical administrative support including project advice and design assessments. Furthermore, as a Structural Designer, you will need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, create Design Risk Assessments, assist junior or less experienced design engineers in their development, and produce detailed designs from 11kV-132kV in compliance with industry standards within time and budget. The must-have skills for this role include proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit, Civils 3D, TEKLA/TEDS, structural calculations for onsite structures, rebar design for concrete bases, foundations, and transformer bunds, piling caps and steel platforms calculations, proficiency with British and European standards, Building Regulations, Design Risk Assessments, technical report preparation, and stakeholder liaison.
