Furthermore, as a Structural Designer, you will need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, create Design Risk Assessments, assist junior or less experienced design engineers in their development, and produce detailed designs from 11kV-132kV in compliance with industry standards within time and budget. You will be responsible for assessing existing bridges and preparing detailed assessment reports. Your experience in assessment and design of Steel Composite, Pretension, and Posttension structures will be crucial for this role. You will also be required to conduct feasibility studies for strengthening and repair projects. In addition to this, you will be involved in preparing new bridge designs and strengthening designs in accordance with UK standards, ensuring adherence to appropriate design and health and safety regulations as well as WSP WoW procedures. Under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer, you will carry out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III). Your responsibilities will also include compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within specified deadlines, while ensuring compliance with the project brief. You should follow QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines for all your work, and ensure the correct implementation of document control and QA processes. It is essential that you produce work according to specified WSP design standards and suggest revisions to standards when necessary. You must ensure the use of all relevant standards and guides in accordance with UK Design standards and WSP QA processes (WoW). Compliance with AIP or other project requirements is also a key aspect of this role. You will be expected to utilize WSP calculation templates and ensure that calculation sheets comply with WSP standards. Familiarity with WSP Technical library and Information systems for design work is necessary. Only the latest versions of British and European Standards should be used unless specifically required by AIP. Continuous development and enhancement of skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and other computer-aided design software is encouraged. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders from scientific and non-scientific backgrounds. You should be able to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve business objectives. Mandatory skills for this role include assessment of existing bridges and design of steel composite, prestressed bridges, British, and European standards.,
