Structural Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• To support the Structural Engineering department taking full responsibility over the calculation and design activities related to equipment of steel structure.
• To develop by himself / herself the Structural Engineering calculations in Staad Pro, support and supervise that the TEKLA modelers design according to calculations.
• To supervise and coordinate external subcontracted resources Structural Engineering works when required (workshops, vendors, etc).
• To coordinate with the other Engineering disciplines at Novargi Indian branch and/or Headquarters to improve the better engineering solutions for the global project and to close any interface and task.
• To give support to Structural construction works at Site in coordination with other teams and Engineering disciplines.
• To guarantee that all the Quality & HSE requirements have been considered and are accomplished during the Engineering stage taking into consideration the local applicable legislation.
• To guarantee that all the Quality & HSE requirements have been considered and are accomplished during the Construction stage taking into consideration the local applicable legislation and Project Procedures and Instructions.
• To implement the applicable project job specification, standards and international codes (ASME, API, ASCE, AISC, EC) as well as Indian codes.
• To participate and lead when required the Engineering and Construction meetings internally and externally with clients.
• To prepare calculation reports of equipment including structural checks, lifting lugs analysis, lifting beams, base plates, bolted connections, etc.
• To support other Company departments (Procurement, Projects) in the related activities of its disciplines when required (Review of technical information of Vendor offers, development of internal technical procurement
• All these activities will be in the context of Indian and International projects.
• You will be responsible for traveling internationally when and as required. You shall agree to travel and/or undergo training(s) within India or outside India, as directed by the company.

Preferred candidate profile

• Educational Background: Bachelors degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering with 8 to 12 years of experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in STAAD and AutoCAD and other design software. Knowledge of fired heaters and equivalent equipment shall be preferrable. Strong understanding of structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and structural design principles.
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software and structural analysis software like Staad & SAP
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Project Management: Experience in managing construction projects.
• Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
