Job Description

Job Summary:

The Store Keeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory efficiently and accurately. They ensure that materials, equipment, and supplies are properly accounted for, organized, and maintained to support smooth operations and minimize losses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate records of all materials received, issued, and returned.
  • Conduct regular stock verification and physical inventory checks.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate requisitions for replenishment.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and storage of materials.
  • Receiving and Issuing Materials
  • Receive materials and verify quantity, quality, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Record goods received in inventory management system.
  • Issue materials as per approved requisitions and update records promptly.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
  • Maintain proper documentation for receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Prepare inventory reports, stock ledgers, and usage summaries.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and accounts departments for reconciliation.
  • Store Organization and Safety
  • Ensure materials are stored in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the storage area.
  • Implement and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) or other inventory control methods.
  • Coordination
  • Liaise with purchase, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Report discrepancies, damages, or losses to management immediately.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, or storekeeping.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP/SAP/Tally).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
