Job Description

Role & responsibilities Storage Architect Key Responsibilities: Storage Management: Administer and optimize Dell/EMC storage systems, including provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Manage and configure MDS switches, ensuring optimal connectivity and performance between storage and server environments. Implement and maintain storage policies, including data protection and replication strategies. Backup and Recovery: Oversee and manage Commvault backup solutions, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Ensure regular backups and recovery processes are functioning correctly and meet recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO). Perform regular tests of backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Automation and Optimization: Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine storage and backup tasks to improve efficiency. Continuously assess and optimize storage and backup infrastructure to meet evolving business needs and performance requirements. Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with other IT teams, including server, network, and application support, to ensure integrated and efficient storage solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and assist with knowledge transfer. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in storage administration, with a focus on Dell/EMC storage systems, MDS switches, and Commvault backup solutions. Technical Skills: Proficiency with Dell/EMC storage systems, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Expertise in MDS switches and storage area networks (SAN). Advanced knowledge of Veeam backup and recovery solutions. Experience with patch management processes and tools for storage systems. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HP ATP (Accredited Technical Professional), Cisco CCNP Data Center, or Commvault Certified Engineer (VMCE) are preferred. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other storage solutions and backup technologies. Knowledge of cloud storage solutions and hybrid cloud environments. Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
