Role & responsibilities

• Architecture & Design

• Design and implement enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, DAS).
• Plan capacity, performance tuning, and storage tiering strategies.
• Integrate storage with virtualization and cloud platforms.

• Administration & Operations

• Manage storage arrays (e.g., NetApp, EMC, Dell, HPE, IBM).
• Configure RAID, LUN provisioning, zoning, and masking.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.

• Performance & Troubleshooting

• Monitor storage performance using tools like

  SRM

  ,

  Unisphere

  , or

  OnCommand

• Resolve escalated issues from L1/L2 teams.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents.

• Security & Compliance

• Apply storage security best practices and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Manage access controls and audit logs.

• Automation & Optimization

• Develop scripts for storage automation (PowerShell, Python).
• Optimize storage utilization and cost efficiency.
• Implement storage replication and snapshot strategies.

• Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with virtualization, backup, and network teams.
• Maintain detailed documentation and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required Skills

• Expertise in

  SAN/NAS technologies

  and storage protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
• Hands-on experience with major storage vendors (NetApp, EMC, Dell, HPE).
• Knowledge of

  backup and replication tools

  (Veeam, Commvault).
• Familiarity with

  cloud storage integration

  (Azure, AWS).
• Proficiency in scripting for automation.
