Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer - Back End at Avensys, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of features, experiments, technical projects, and complex systems. You will act as a technical architect, mentor, and driver towards the right technology, continuously evolving the architecture and building better software. Your responsibilities will include being a major contributor to agile and scrum practices, collaborating with server, client, and infrastructure teams, and constantly seeking ways to enhance products, code-base, and development practices. Your role will also involve driving technical decisions within the organization. To succeed in this role, you should have at least 7 years of experience in developing performance-critical applications using Scala, Java, or C#. You must have experience in leading projects, initiatives, or teams with full ownership of the systems involved. Additionally, familiarity with Backend for front end is a must, along with knowledge of data platforms like SQL, Cassandra, or Hadoop, algorithms, and data structures. Strong coding ability, passion for software development, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position. It would be great if you also have experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies, building large-scale distributed products, and using core engineering infrastructure tools like Git, TeamCity, and Puppet. Hands-on experience with queueing systems, Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL databases, Play framework, and Akka library will be advantageous.
