Role Overview

Service Management Modernisation (SMM) Program

This role is central to a highly visible roadmap focused on modernization, automation, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with engineers across business units to identify pain points, design scalable solutions, and ensure seamless system integration across platforms. Your impact will span automation platforms, data and analytics, dashboards and UI, and complex system integrationsmaking this a critical, high-impact position within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to

  reduce manual toil (TOIL)

  through end-to-end automation and platform modernization.
• Assess existing manual and administrative processes and design

  efficient, scalable, and modern alternatives

  .
• Ensure seamless

  integration across automation systems

  , services, and platforms.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues involving

  multiple interconnected system components

  .
• Optimize operational workflows to simplify the lives of service owners and engineering teams.
  
• Support and prioritize a diverse backlog ranging from

  process simplification to full automation of compliance and technology controls

  .
• Collaborate with Product Managers to balance delivery effort, technical complexity, and business value.
  
• Engage with engineers across business units to creatively solve problems and address operational pain points.
  
• Share ideas, patterns, and best practices effectively, acting as a

  technical mentor and role model

  within the squad.

Required Skills & Experience

• 9–12 years of hands-on experience in

  software engineering

  , with strong exposure to large-scale systems.
• Proven experience as a

  full-cycle developer or technical specialist

  with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  

• Go (Golang) – Full Stack

• Python

• SQL

• RESTful APIs

• AWS Cloud

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Deep understanding of

  microservices architecture

  , system integration, and API-driven platforms.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex, distributed environments.
  

DevOps, Cloud & Tooling

• Experience with

  CI/CD and source control tooling

  , including:
• GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, TeamCity, Artifactory
  
• Familiarity with

  containerization and orchestration

  tools:
• Docker, Kubernetes, EKS
  
• Experience using

  observability and monitoring tools

• Prometheus, Grafana
  
• Proficiency with

  Agile engineering tools

  such as Jira and Confluence.

Engineering Practices

• Strong experience with modern engineering practices including:

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing

  continuous delivery pipelines and CI/CD solutions
