Job Description

Staff Nurses

Key Responsibilities

  • Department Operations & Patient Care:

  • Manage the daily routine of the OPD and ER, ensuring all equipment and materials are readily available.
  • Ensure a

    professional handover and takeover

    of shifts.
  • Collaborate with Guest Relations to plan

    resource deployment

    based on appointment schedules, and escalate needs during busy periods.
  • Understand and plan for patient and consultant requirements, ensuring

    efficient staffing

    .
  • Assign duties to nursing staff, balancing experience and skill levels per shift.
  • Obtain accurate

    medical history

    of patients and communicate it to the consulting physician.
  • Assist gynecologists, obstetricians, and pediatricians in procedures.
  • Ensure all investigations advised by the doctor are carried out and reports are available promptly.
  • Emergency & Safety Management:

  • Handle

    emergencies competently and calmly

    , providing timely guidance and making crucial decisions.
  • Immediately inform the Nursing Superintendent (

    NS

    ) of any incidents.
  • Implement and practice

    medication safety

    and patient safety protocols.
  • Uphold

    patient rights

    and maintain strict

    confidentiality

    of all patient information.
  • Compliance & Coordination:

  • Implement

    infection control practices

    and adhere to

    NABH & Nursing Excellence standards

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and registers as per organizational standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and correct, and track

    Nursing Quality Indicators

  • Manage

    inventory and cost control

    to prevent wastage of resources.
  • Coordinate with the billing team for investigations and billing activities.
  • Work closely with the clinical services team to ensure efficient and coordinated care.

Educational Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • A valid State Registration Nursing Council Certificate is mandatory.

    Strong clinical skills with a comprehensive understanding of outpatient and emergency care.
  • Organizational Skills:

    Excellent ability to manage departmental routines, staffing, and resource allocation.
