Staff Nurse (OT)

Position Overview

Zen Hospital, a 50-bed multi-specialty facility located at #385, Road No. 5, Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB), Hyderabad - 500085 (near Lulu Mall), Phone: 9985551486, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurses for its Operation Theatre (OT) department. Established in 2022 by Dr. G V Chanukya, the hospital is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare across various specialties. The Staff Nurse in OT will play a critical role in supporting surgical teams, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile environments during procedures. This full-time position involves rotating shifts and requires a focus on perioperative care.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare the operation theatre by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile fields in accordance with hospital protocols and infection control standards.

Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OT team members during surgical procedures, including circulating, scrubbing, and anticipating needs for supplies or instruments.

Monitor patients' vital signs pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, administering medications and fluids as directed.

Ensure patient safety by verifying consent forms, allergies, and surgical sites; position patients correctly and prevent complications like pressure injuries.

Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient responses, and inventory usage in electronic health records.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses from other departments (e.g., ICU, Ward), and support staff, to provide seamless comprehensive care.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as infection control audits and staff training sessions.

Handle emergency situations in the OT, including resuscitation and rapid response to surgical complications.

Educate patients and families on post-operative care, wound management, and recovery expectations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: B.Sc. Nursing (BScN), General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), or Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) from a recognized institution.

Registration: Valid registration with the Telangana Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC).

Experience: Minimum 0-2 years in a hospital setting, preferably in Operation Theatres or perioperative nursing. Freshers with relevant internships are encouraged to apply.

Skills: Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical instrumentation, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent communication, teamwork, and stress management abilities. Proficiency in English and Telugu is preferred.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is advantageous.
