Staff Nurse (OT)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified and dedicated OT Technician to join our hospital’s surgical team. The OT Technician will assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during operations and ensure that the operation theatre is fully prepared, sterile, and functioning efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining all surgical instruments, preparing the theatre before and after procedures, and ensuring adherence to infection control and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain operation theatre before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by handling instruments, sterilized equipment, and other supplies.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
• Set up surgical tables, lights, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment before each procedure.
• Maintain inventory of surgical instruments, linen, and consumables in the OT.
• Check functionality of OT equipment (suction machines, cautery units, anesthesia machines, monitors, etc.) before procedures.
• Follow strict aseptic and infection control protocols at all times.
• Dispose of bio-medical waste as per hospital and government regulations.
• Coordinate with the maintenance and biomedical teams for any equipment issues.
• Assist in patient shifting and positioning before surgery as required.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures, instruments used, and sterilization cycles.
• Support emergency and elective surgical procedures as part of the OT team.

Qualifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT, B.Sc. in OT Technology, or equivalent).
• Valid certification or registration (as per local health authority requirements).
• Minimum [1–3] years of experience as an OT Technician (hospital experience preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control procedures.
• Familiarity with different types of surgeries (general, orthopedic, gynecologic, etc.) preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during critical situations.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time position; may require night shifts, weekends, or on-call duties.
• Exposure to surgical procedures, disinfectants, and biological materials (protective gear provided).
• Fast-paced and high-precision hospital environment.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
