Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

Prepare the operating theatre with required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for neurosurgical procedures.
Scrub and assist surgeons during neurosurgery cases, ensuring proper instrument handling and count.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent surgical site infections.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
Handle surgical specimens as per protocol and ensure accurate documentation.
Monitor and ensure functionality of OT equipment (microscopes, drills, cautery, navigation system, etc.).
Coordinate with anesthesia, surgical, and nursing teams for smooth workflow.
Ensure accurate pre- and post-operative counts of instruments, sponges, and needles.
Maintain patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and continuing nursing education programs.
Comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NABH/JCI).

Preferred candidate profile:

Excellent knowledge of neuro OT procedures and instrumentation.
Attention to detail with strong sense of responsibility.
Teamwork and effective communication with surgeons, anesthetists, and colleagues.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Commitment to patient care and safety.
