Sr SQL Database Administrator

As a SQL Database Administrator in Pune (Hybrid), with 10 to 14 years of experience, you will be responsible for various database maintenance tasks. This includes managing jobs, space, backups, and restores efficiently. Your role will also involve refining and automating processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes regularly. Ensuring database availability is crucial, which entails managing processes, index maintenance, and database security, including user access control and integrity. You will play a key role in assisting with TSQL code writing, addressing database errors, and supporting developers with query tuning and schema refinement. Additionally, you will provide 24x7 support for critical production systems, perform scheduled maintenance, and assist in release deployment activities after hours. Sharing your domain and technical expertise by providing mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members will also be part of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should have 10 to 12 years of MS SQL Server Administration experience, along with a relevant degree in B.E., B. Tech, or equivalent. Proficiency in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), backups, restores, recovery models, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) management, data mirroring, replication, and log shipping is required. Experience in managing files, file groups, table archiving, and partitioning is essential. Familiarity with Windows server, Active Directory, and excellent communication skills are also necessary. Being a flexible, team-oriented individual with a proactive attitude, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment is crucial. Any certifications like MCTS, MCITP, MVP, as well as skills in MongoDB and PostgreSQL DB, would be advantageous.
