Sr Software Eng Supervisor

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Oversee successful engineering execution and management of assigned customer projects, adhering to technical scope, schedule, and budget.
• Contribute to defining and refining engineering processes, from presale support through project handover.
• Support productivity initiatives for the engineering department, tracking key project deliverables and maintaining project budgets.
• Track and document scope changes throughout the project lifecycle, managing risks and opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of engineering standards and work processes.
• Manage department engineers effectively, fostering open communication, identifying skill gaps, and aligning team skills.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the department and project execution.
• Define and track performance measures for engineering projects.
• Ensure effective communication with all disciplines and cross-functional groups within the organization.
• Manage internal and external customer communications, expectations, and conflicts.
• Support customer acceptance testing and ensure resolution of roadblocks and technical risks.
• Ensure project teams adhere to quality and safety procedures and guidelines.

Skills Requirement:

• Proven ability to supervise or lead a technical software engineering team.
• Strong hands-on technical knowledge of distribution center material handling systems, including PC-controlled conveyors and sortation sub-systems.
• Deep knowledge in C++, C#, and/or Java programming under Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Deep knowledge of RDBMS, such as MS SQL, Postgres, or Oracle.
• Proficiency with source control systems like SVN (Subversion) and GitHub.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, Ethernet, and EtherCAT is a plus.
• Self-driven with autonomous problem-solving capabilities and requiring minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
