Sr Software Development Engineer

As a member of the team at Workday, you will be part of a group dedicated to getting the largest higher education institutions live on Workday Student. You will work together to tackle ambitious problems while having fun and being flexible to adapt to changes quickly. With a variety of customers already live, the team continues to enhance the product in preparation for future waves of customers. In your role, you will collaborate with the Product Manager, QA team, and test automation counterparts to analyze requirements and design functional solutions. You will be responsible for developing a product in a metadata-based environment, writing efficient and maintainable code using an Object-Oriented language, building automated tests, and resolving customer-reported issues. Additionally, you will engage in pair programming, code reviews, and technical reviews to learn from your team members. Basic Qualifications: - Possess 8+ years of experience in developing performant, scalable, and resilient applications. - Demonstrated expertise (8+ years) in one or more Object-Oriented languages like Java, C#, C++, Scala, etc. - Familiarity with UML, web application development, or Software as a Service (SaaS). Other Qualifications: - Collaborative mindset with colleagues of diverse functions and experience levels. - Enthusiastic about agile software development principles. - Strong passion for building scalable, performant, and resilient Enterprise Business Applications. - Ability to adapt and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment. - Understanding of the significance of automated tests at all testing levels. - Knowledge of metadata-driven definitional development is advantageous. - Prior experience with integration technologies. - Familiarity with modern UI technologies such as React. - Experience with UML.
