Sr. Manager - Maintenance

Role & responsibilities

Team Management

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance personnel (technicians, supervisors, and support staff).
• Set performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide feedback.
• Organize training programs to enhance the skills of the maintenance team.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Oversee the repair and maintenance of all machinery, equipment, and production systems.
• Ensure the timely resolution of any breakdowns or faults that occur during production.

Budgeting and Cost Control

• Develop and manage the department's maintenance budget.
• Ensure cost-effective operations by controlling maintenance expenses while maintaining a high standard of service.
• Negotiate with suppliers for spare parts, equipment, and service contracts.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to ensure safe working conditions.
• Lead emergency response drills and safety training.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce equipment downtime, and increase efficiency.
• Use predictive maintenance technologies to identify potential failures before they happen.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure machinery is optimized for operations.

Equipment Management

• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and manage ordering and storage.
• Oversee the installation of new equipment and ensure smooth integration with existing systems.

Reporting and Documentation

• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Prepare reports for senior management on maintenance performance, downtime, and maintenance costs.
• Ensure the correct documentation for equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines.

Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers.
• Ensure external maintenance services are performed to the required standards.

Project Management

• Lead or assist in the planning and execution of capital improvement projects related to equipment or infrastructure.
