Senior IoT Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1) Application Engineering (IoT Integration & Field Delivery)

• Configure, test, and calibrate IoT sensors, gateways, and communication interfaces (

  RS-485, Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA

  ).
• Perform on-site installation, integration, troubleshooting, and validation/commissioning of IoT systems.
• Prepare system architecture diagrams, wiring layouts, network topology, and deployment guidelines.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for device, network, protocol, or data issues during field operations.
• Work closely with hardware vendors and client teams to ensure smooth end-to-end integration.

2) Software Integration (Cloud / Platform / SCADA)

• Integrate IoT gateways/devices with cloud platforms such as

  AWS (IoT Core / IoT Greengrass)

  and IoT platforms like

  ThingsBoard, ThingWorx

  (or similar).
• Support integration with

  SCADA / Industrial monitoring systems

  using standard industrial protocols and data models.
• Configure device telemetry pipelines, data mapping, alarms/events, dashboards, and rule engines as required.
• Support secure connectivity, device onboarding, certificate handling, and basic cybersecurity best practices for IoT deployments.
• Assist in validating end-to-end flows:

  sensor gateway cloud/platform/SCADA dashboards/reports

3) Project Management (Agile Execution & Coordination)

• Plan, monitor, and deliver IoT project milestones using

  Agile/Scrum

  methodologies.
• Manage sprint planning, task breakdown, and team allocations using

  Jira

• Collaborate with AI/ML teams on predictive analytics, anomaly detection models, and automation workflows.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (development, hardware, QA, field support).
• Maintain documentation, release notes, and project dashboards for internal and client reviews.

4) Application Development (Edge + API + Linux)

• Design, develop, and optimize IoT applications using

  Python and C/C++

  .
• Develop edge-level data acquisition, preprocessing, and communication modules on

  Linux-based gateways

  .
• Implement secure and efficient APIs/interfaces (

  REST/MQTT/Socket

  ) for device-to-cloud and device-to-device communication.
• Work on Linux system services, daemon management, and shell scripting for deployment automation.
• Debug real-time application issues related to memory, performance, and protocol handling.

5) Client Demo & Presentation

• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers.
• Understand customer use cases and propose relevant IoT solutions during pre-sales discussions.
• Translate technical features into business value for stakeholders and decision-makers.

6) Proposal Engineering

• Design end-to-end IoT solution architectures covering devices, gateways, cloud/platform, and applications.
• Prepare BoM, technical specifications, and integration methodology for proposals.
• Collaborate with sales teams to build techno-commercial proposals and system workflows.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and best practices.
